HAWAII FALSE ALERT: Chilling ballistic missile warning issued to residents in ERROR

A BALLISTIC missile alert has been issued across Hawaii, telling residents to seek immediate shelter along with the chilling warning it is ‘not a drill’.

The warning, sent to citizens’ phones, said: “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII.

“SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER, THIS IS NOT A DRILL.”

However Hawaii’s Emergency Management Agency has said it is, in fact, a false alarm.

In a tweet, they said: “NO missile threat to Hawaii.”

A spokesperson added: “”We’re in a process of sending another message to cancel the initial message. It was part of a drill that was going on.”

It is currently unclear what caused the false alarm.

Democratic Congresswoman for Hawaii Tulsi Gabbard tweeted: “HAWAII – THIS IS A FALSE ALARM. THERE IS NO INCOMING MISSILE TO HAWAII. I HAVE CONFIRMED WITH OFFICIALS THERE IS NO INCOMING MISSILE.”

Sirens reportedly sounded as residents scrambled to find cover, while TV stations issued a chilling message calling on residents to stay in their homes. read more
