A sharing of Reverend Richard
I like to discuss with you this topic where people are preparing for what they believe the End of Times. There is something good and bad about the show that makes me think of why people do it and the logic about it. If one believes in the scripture, “God provides” – this for me as a missionary holds true.
Before being a Pastor I have everything the world has to offer. Money, house and anything lavish. But what opened my eyes was this scripture:
Now when Jesus heard these things, he said unto him, Yet lackest thou one thing: sell all that thou hast, and distribute unto the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, follow me.
This is one of the truest forms of self sacrifice.
If your intention is to have this bond and relation to the Lord, then you must deny yourself and follow him.
Having faith is one thing but following the Lord is something we usually are afraid. Afraid because we can’t easily take away all our material belongings and do His works.
In third world countries, we see Missionaries left and right, righteous and truly the ones I could say living the Lord’s way. They fear not the danger in their lives. They have literally nothing but daily they survive. And what is inspiring is how they manifest the importance of doing the works of the Lord – literally.
For preppers, I am not against it nor not for it, but when you are counted as one, reflect and pray. Ask God if all the worldly and material things around you are what He wants for you to have during the End Times or this is what “you” feel you need since you have fears of suffering. A true Christian is the one who accepted the Lord and fearing nothing and the one ready to face the Lord with an open heart and saying, “”Lord, I am one with your disciples following what you commanded – ,
“The Lord Says, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” “ – Mark 8:34
